I offer a range of services to children, teenagers, adults, families and organisations from individual therapy to reflective practice sessions with staff teams. Individual therapy sessions are usually weekly, lasting for 50 minutes.
Working with children
Children sometimes need a space that belongs just to them, where they can make sense of their lives with the support of a therapist who sits outside their everyday world.
Whether your child is experiencing bullying, friendship difficulties, anxiety, overwhelming feelings, emotionally-based school avoidance, domestic abuse, chronic illness, bereavement, parental separation and divorce in the home, potential issues related to neurodivergence or any other challenges in their lives, I will work with you and your child to explore how best to support you both.
I work with children of all ages upwards from 4 years old. As a person-led integrative psychotherapist, I use play and arts based therapies to facilitate my child clients’ process in the way that they prefer, whether that is through play, games, drawing, music, painting, puppets, clay, sand tray or talking.
I hold regular reviews with parents/carers so that you are involved in your child’s therapeutic process. As a schools’ therapeutic lead, I understand school systems and can also work with teachers to enable greater understanding of your child’s process within the school environment.
Working with teenagers
Adolescence often brings challenges for young people - whether that is exam stress, social anxiety, emotionally-based school avoidance, low self-esteem and confidence, identity exploration, friendship difficulties or issues at home. I offer a safe, confidential space for us to work together to explore these difficulties and help enable understanding of different experiences.
Reflective parenting
Becoming a parent is a major life-changing event. Patterns of being and different relational dynamics can become ingrained over time within constellations, some of which may prove challenging. It can be useful to have a reflective space to talk through your concerns for your child and explore any struggles you may be having. We will identify patterns and talk through potential strategies or different approaches to introduce that may help.
In these weekly or fortnightly sessions, we may also look at how you yourself were parented and the potential impact of this on your relationship with your child.
Therapy for adults
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing challenges at home or at work and/or in your personal relationships. You may now feel ready to talk through your experience with a therapist but be finding it difficult to reach out, particularly if you have never had therapy before.
I am a warm and compassionate therapist and offer an open, non-judgemental space where we can explore your challenges together at your own pace.
Reflective practice for organisations
Finding the time and space to explore relational dynamics, potential systemic issues in a busy working environment can be difficult. I offer sessions to professionals and teams that can be tailored to specific challenges within their school or organisation.
